Product Description
Daily Microfoliant is a truly unique rice-based enzyme powder that micro-exfoliates dulling debris and instantly leaves the skin noticeably smoother and brighter. The powder formula activates upon contact with water, releasing papain, salicylic acid and rice actives to smooth the skin and accelerate cell renewal. Daily Microfoliant is also formulated with a unique skin brightening complex of bearberry, aspergillus, grapefruit and licorice to help balance uneven skin pigmentation. A super soothing blend of green tea, ginkgo and colloidal oatmeal calms inflammation, leaving the skin extraordinarily clear and refreshed.

5 out of 5 stars This stuff is really great.   February 19, 2010

Honestly, this is the best product I have ever used on my skin. I read an article in In Style a while back-- Liv Tyler was talking about products she used and she said that someone used this on her and it made her pores disappear. I think she has lovely skin, so I tried a sample size. Wow. I have dry, sensitive, 40-something fair skin. This made it smooth, brighter, and did shrink my pores. I use it in the shower--just shake some into my palm, add a little water, scrub my face with my hands, leave it a few seconds, then rinse. It is gentle and easy.

Every once in a while in the winter I have to stop using it every day--upstate New York, my skin gets too chapped outside to use anything on it. But in the other three seasons, I use it every single day and it makes a huge difference. I never do this, but I like it so much I bought it for my sister.

5 out of 5 stars I Adore This Product   February 6, 2010

After viewing a trusted youtube video on this, I decided to give it a try. I could not be more pleased! This is the best exfoliating scrub I have ever used. It is gentle, thorough, and it takes very little product to get great results, so it lasts a long time. My skin is soft, and it looks healthy after using this. What a difference from the drugstore exfoliant I was using (which feels like gravel compared to this microfine product)! By the way, the person who recommended the product owned a Clarisonic and preferred this product over it! I agree, and the results are well worth it. A bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for!

2 out of 5 stars Face Producat   February 1, 2010

This product is dry and water is added to apply it. I was not aware of this when I bought the product. It works well however it makes my face too dry. Also, I bought another product through Amazon and had to pay TWO shipping cost. It cost me as much as I paid for both products to ship each one individually. I will never buy any other products except books through Amazon.

1 out of 5 stars a cheaper alternative   January 31, 2010

I understand the basic premiss. I have used a very similar product by shiseido, that I feel was strongly based on the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant.

Here's the skinny: (and I am dead serous this works fabulously) I use white rice flour or sweet rice flour for extra sensitive skin. It can be used to cleans and or leave on (like a mask) for 15-20-mins and wiped off w/ a damp cloth.

you can recycle and clean any large shaker for cheese or spices to dispense from the bulk amount of rice flour.

compair white rice flour at $2.00 a LBs to $36.00 plus S/H for 2.60z

A chemist once told me when I was 13-yrs old and in love w/ Noxzema, that the best skin care products, are things you can eat. Because our skin eats what we put on it. How cam it really digest all the chemicals and waxes, etc????

Another cool idea: roes water, cucumber juice or aloe vera juice put into travel size spray bottles, make great skin toners. (just remember to always keep them refrigerated and check their freshness, before each use.

I hope some ppl think this is useful - : )

5 out of 5 stars Great for sensitive skin!   September 23, 2009

I have sensitive, acne-prone skin. I was experiencing horrible break-outs on my cheeks and chin in my early 30's and decided to finally see an aesthetician. Having sensitive skin meant that I could not endure benzyl peroxide, intense glycolic peels, or even microdermabrasion. Her answer was to treat me with a series of mild lactic acid peels and have me follow a regimen of Dermalogica products, including Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant. After 6 weeks of treatment, my skin stopped breaking out and healed. After 10 weeks of treatment, my skin evened out and I my scars were barely noticeable. At 12 weeks, I could leave the house without any make-up and no one would have ever guessed I had acne.

I have continued using Dermalogica products and I notice a difference when I am not using the Microfoliant as my skin feels rougher than usual and I get small breakouts on my chin. I don't always have to use it every day but it is gentle enough so that I could if I wanted to. With my sensitive skin, it is the only thing that doesn't make my face red and irritated after using it.
